Sune Borregaard began playing steel pans in 1989, and has formed and played in several steelbands since.

He plays Caribbean music as well as jazz, and is leader and arranger for the 6-piece steel band Sonic Steel, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Sonic Steel plays a lot of Latin music in jazzy arrangements.

Besides performing as a jazz soloist, Sune also commits a great deal of his time to incorporate the steel pan in settings that aren’t common for the instrument. For instance he released an avant-garde album with the trio SUMI in 2006, where the possibilities that opens up when pans are combined with effect processors are investigated...(click on details for full Bio)
